This support worker position is with the Healthy Play Project at Gympie Community Place.
Healthy Play Project provides safe and welcoming spaces for parents and families to explore their young child's development, behaviour, health and wellbeing, and general readiness for school. Healthy Play provides families with information, developmental and needs assessments, advocacy support, service and health referrals, and access to broader community services and support networks.
The primary purpose of the Support Worker position is to:
* Connect with local families with children aged under 5, or home-schooled children, for the purpose of developmental screening and assessment
* Support families to understand and meet the developmental needs of their children
* Support health literacy and health service access for parents and caregivers
* Support access into allied health services to support the identified needs of children

Minimum Requirements - To be considered for the position you MUST have:
* A degree or formal tertiary qualification of a relevant nature, OR a lesser formal qualification of a relevant nature to community service type work.
* Demonstrated experience in client support work and/or in working with families and children in a support role.
* A current Working with Children BLUE CARD is required
