The Role:
As a Mad Butcher butcher/smallgoods maker you will be responsible for preparing, producing, and packaging a wide range of processed meats including sausages, salami, ham, bacon, and other specialty smallgoods. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of food safety and hygiene, and a passion for high-quality meat products.
4-day work week, have the weekends off

About you
Essential requirements:
* Prepare and process meat products including mincing, mixing etc
* Operate meat processing equipment such as mincers, mixers, and slicers.
* Follow recipes and product specifications to ensure consistency and quality.
* Monitor and record production data, temperatures, and curing times.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with food safety regulations and HACCP standards.
* Clean and sanitise work areas and equipment to maintain hygiene and safety.
* Assist with inventory management, ordering, and receiving ingredients and packaging.
* Collaborate with the production team to meet daily and weekly production targets.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
What we are looking for:
* Proven experience as a smallgoods maker, butcher, or meat processor (or willing to be trained).
* Knowledge of meat handling
* Understanding of food safety standards and HACCP guidelines.
* Ability to work in cold environments and handle physical tasks, including lifting.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Strong attention to detail and quality.
* Trade qualifications (e.g., Certificate III in Meat Processing – Smallgoods) are desirable but not essential.
