About The Role

Social Videographer & Editor you will create best-in-class, fit-for-platform social media content for the AFL across Meta, TikTok, YouTube and other associated social media platforms. You will ideate, capture using mirrorless cameras and other devices other than a mobile phone, and craft and develop high-impact video content that cuts through on the AFL's platforms. This is a hands-on role focused on producing fan-first content, which would involve a mix of planned studio shoots and on-the-road captures with players, content creators and key industry figures to build and strengthen audience connections. A knowledge of AFL, storytelling and comfort working outside regular hours are essential for powering the growth of the AFL's social media channels for this season and beyond. Attention to detail and pride in the quality of output is essential for this role, as well as a keen eye on video trends on social media and an eagerness to implement them in a timely manner. The Social Videographer & Editor may also be required to assist in the production of live broadcasts across various social media channels. This includes setting up and executing live streams on platforms like TikTok and YouTube.

Our Ideal Team Member

Core Competencies

* Proven hands-on experience (minimum 2+ years) capturing, editing and publishing video content for social media platforms
* Proven experience using mirrorless cameras and other video capture devices that is not a mobile phone
* Work side-by-side with the Social Projects Lead to ensure quality, accuracy and speed of content, in accordance with publishing KPIs
* Highly skilled in social video clipping and production editing using Adobe Premiere Pro
* Experience with production requirements such as lighting, audio and visual capture in studio and external environments
* Key understanding of social video content and what content pillars and editing styles will best appeal to younger audiences
* Excellent storytelling skills with a passion and strong attention to detail
* Availability to work flexible days and hours, including gamedays, weekends and evenings
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the wider social and editorial teams

Desired

* Experience with video archive systems and WSC
* Experience with other Adobe Creative Cloud offerings such as Photoshop and After Effects
* An understanding and passion for AFL and storytelling
* Experience facilitating and producing live content directly to social media platforms such as YouTube and TikTok
* Understanding of social media platforms, audience trends and best practice across Meta, TikTok and YouTube
