The Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced and energetic Supervisor for our Barwon Heads Road upgrade project. This role will report to the Project Superintendent and be responsible for managing works by leading a team to drive effective delivery outcomes, monitoring the construction program in line with the overall project program, and adhering to HSE requirements.
More specifically this role will involve:
Working closely with General Superintendent, Engineers, Contract Administrators and Project Management to align plans and subcontractors with the project scope.
Coordinating with subcontractors for seamless project delivery.
Overseeing on-site construction works, site labour, hired plant and subcontractors.
Addressing defects and conduct rectifications as needed.
Performing site inspections and set out footings when required.
Ensuring a high level of on-site safety performance, adhering to all safety standards.
Develop short term programs for the works
Deliver works to budget, looking for opportunities for efficiency.
Compliance with the Project's Industrial relations Management Plan
Maintaining accurate site records
You will be required to work closely with other disciplines to ensure works are delivered in accordance with the project's requirements, in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
To value-add, it's important you have a proactive "can do" attitude and look to take the initiative to get involved with ad-hoc tasks and proactively seek additional work.
Competencies we're seeking:
Experience as a Leading Hand, Supervisor or Foreman in the construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years' experience
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment, as well as the ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire your team
Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding practical solutions
Thorough knowledge of relevant safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance on the worksite
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with necessary parties including public speaking in front of work groups
