Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) are seeking applications from passionate Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples who have knowledge and experience in delivering cultural awareness and capability programs that aim to improve outcomes for community.

Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identified Position: Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such. This is a genuine occupational qualification authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW. Applicants must demonstrate Aboriginality in addition to addressing the selection criteria.

About the Opportunity

The Aboriginal Cultural Capability Facilitator promotes and champions cultural capability, safety and responsiveness throughout the organisation. The position develops key initiatives and delivers education and training for employees to enhance cultural capability and inclusivity within the workplace. This includes leading the coordination, facilitation and evaluation of the NSW Health Respecting the Difference cultural awareness program and working with key internal and external stakeholders to develop a range of Aboriginal specific learning initiatives that aim to build culturally safe and responsive workplaces and health services for Aboriginal staff, patients, carers, families and visitors.

This role sits within the Aboriginal Workforce Development Team, which provides leadership, direction and education to support the district's progress towards achieving Aboriginal workforce related objectives outlined in the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, NSW Health Good Health Great Jobs Aboriginal Workforce and Respecting the Difference Frameworks.

About You

To help create long lasting systemic change:

* You're a proud Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, well connected to community, with strong cultural knowledge and values and a passion for change.
* You bring experience in delivering or facilitating cultural education and know how to connect with people at all levels.
* You have a degree level qualification and/or equivalent experience in a similar role.
* You have knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal cultures and the historical social issues that impact the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people on the Central Coast.
