General Accountant – Finance Department

Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our Finance Department. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain bookkeeping and accounting records in accordance with standard accounting principles.
* Oversee accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
* Prepare and submit tax filings and Business Activity Statements (BAS), ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
* Document and continuously improve accounting processes by assisting in the formulation of budgetary and accounting policies.
* Collaborate with vendors and customers to manage collections and payments, supporting healthy cash flow and minimizing credit risk.
* Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes in collaboration with the Finance Controller and other key stakeholders.
* Assist in budget development, tracking, and variance analysis, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
* Ensuring the integrity of internal control systems, safeguarding the accuracy and security of financial data.
* Stay current with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and industry best practices, applying knowledge to improve financial processes.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Proven experience in a general accounting role with solid knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
* Hands‐on experience in preparing financial statements and managing accounting systems.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Solid analytical, problem‐solving, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
* Committed to maintaining the confidentiality and security of financial data in line with industry standards.
