FEMALE PRIVATE SUPPORT WORKER NEEDED
Based near Kingaroy
Please note: This role is not suitable for applicants based in Toowoomba due to the travel distance.
I am a happy and loving teenage girl seeking a dedicated and reliable Support Worker to join my small, long-term support team. I require consistent assistance across all areas of daily living, including personal care and overnight (sleepover) supports.
I live just outside of Kingaroy on a rural property with acreage, together with my Mum, Dad, and two siblings. My supports take place within a busy family home, and consistency, routine, and respect for family dynamics are very important. I enjoy spending time with my family and going for walks in my stroller around our property.
Although I am non-verbal, you will learn to recognise my cues over time, including indicators of hunger, discomfort, pain, or emotional distress. My mum will provide thorough training, and this role best suits someone who is observant, patient, and comfortable learning through repetition and routine.
This position is best suited to someone seeking ongoing, hands-on support work rather than short-term or supplementary hours. Flexibility and the ability to assist with back-up shifts when required are essential to maintaining continuity of care.
Essential Requirements (or ability to obtain promptly):
1. Australian Business Number (ABN)
2. Current Blue Card
3. Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
4. Public Liability Insurance
5. Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
About the Right Person:
The right person will:
1. Be reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance
2. Be physically fit and comfortable with active, hands-on support
3. Be a fast learner who is confident following established routines
4. Have strong attention to detail and the ability to notice subtle changes in presentation or behaviour
5. Be calm, patient, and emotionally regulated during challenging moments
6. Communicate clearly and professionally
7. Be comfortable working within a family-based, team-oriented environment
8. Understand that flexibility and reliability are key expectations of this role
Role Expectations and Physical Requirements:
This role involves:
1. Providing personal care and daily living support
2. Manual handling tasks in line with training and safe work practices (including assisting with transfers, positioning, and use of mobility equipment as required)
3. Remaining physically active throughout shifts, including standing, bending, walking on uneven ground, and pushing a stroller
4. Providing overnight (sleepover) supports
5. Working flexible hours, including occasional back-up shifts
6. Assisting with light household tasks such as meal preparation
7. Being mindful of the impact of support work within a family home and contributing in ways that help reduce pressure on the household
This role may not be suitable if:
1. You are seeking short-term, casual, or highly fixed hours with limited flexibility
2. You are uncomfortable with physically active, hands-on support work
3. You prefer minimal interaction within a family home environment
4. You are unable to reliably assist with back-up shifts when required
5. You are looking for a role with a high level of independence and minimal routine
The position offers approximately 20–30 hours per week, with a good rate of pay.
