Mental Health Drug & Alcohol Clinical Nurse Educator
NSW Health's Far West Local Health District invites applications for a permanent full-time Mental Health Drug & Alcohol Clinical Nurse Educator in Broken Hill.
The role supports the district's vision to deliver excellence in rural and remote health care through evidence-based practice, learning culture, and innovative workforce incentives.

Location:Broken Hill
Annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to $10,000 (pro-rata to contracted or ordinary hours), paying fortnightly under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.
Responsibilities
Act as an appropriate and effective role model and promote a learning culture that supports innovative practice across the mental health drug and alcohol portfolio.
Implement and evaluate clinical education programs.
Assist with local orientation of all new nurses to MHDA placements – including agency nurses.
Identify individual learning needs.
Support staff to provide clinical supervision at the point of care within everyday clinical practice.
Qualifications
Current Authority to practice as a registered nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation (AHPRA).
Holds a relevant clinical or educational post registration qualification or 3 years clinical experience in mental health nursing and education.
High level communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of teaching and facilitation in adult learning principles within the health care environment.
Demonstrated clinical teaching and facilitation skills to individuals or in group settings using the practice development framework.
Demonstrated knowledge of competency attainment and assessment processes.
Computer literacy including the use of planning documents, reporting schedules and Excel spreadsheets; knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word and hospital systems.
Clean and current driving licence and the ability to travel with the requirements of the role.
