Principal Economist Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced economist to join our team and make a real impact on the NSW community.
You will be working in a dynamic environment, collaborating with multiple stakeholders and agencies to inform policy design and advice that improves the wellbeing of the NSW community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a small team to prepare whole-of-government frameworks, analysis, and advice on interesting issues that impact day-to-day life of people in NSW.
* Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis and policy development, liaising extensively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide expert advice and guidance to NSW Government agencies, coordinating across government performance reporting.
Requirements:
* Significant experience working in economic policy or evidence-informed decision making in government or professional services.
* A flair for critical and creative thinking, demonstrating experience in managing and leading people to deliver high-quality products.
* Experience as a highly effective negotiator, communicator, and listener, able to persuade senior executives using your knowledge, skills, and experience.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and work independently.
