For over 50 years, The Good Shepherd Home has been caring for the aged in Townsville and the surrounding region. We are a large, 245-bed Residential Aged Care facility committed to providing a safe, comfortable and well-maintained environment for our residents, staff and visitors.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Facility Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance operation of our multiple building assets and extensive gardens.
About the role
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility and grounds maintenance. The successful applicant will lead, supervise and organise maintenance staff and external contractors, ensuring the Home’s physical environment is maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee maintenance of buildings, plant, equipment, gardens and grounds
* Lead and support a team of 6 maintenance staff
* Coordinate and supervise contractors
* Manage preventative and reactive maintenance programs
* Ensure compliance with WHS, fire safety and aged care regulatory requirements
* Assist in the development of budgets and manage expenditure accordingly
Experience & Skills
* Proven experience in a similar facility maintenance leadership role Strong leadership, supervisory and mentoring skills
* Willingness to be hands-on when required
* Demonstrated experience managing maintenance within a budget
* Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
* Computer literacy, including experience with MEX or similar systems
