This is a significant opportunity to take full ownership and drive the optimisation of a warehouse function. A prominent Adelaide-based leader in the specialist manufacturing and engineering sector is seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Manager or Supervisor to take full responsibility for its stores and logistics operations.
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing, reviewing, and improving all aspects of the warehouse. This is a critical role that requires a high-calibre, organised, and proactive leader who can manage and refine robust systems to support the company's production and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Warehouse Management: Take full ownership of the warehouse layout, organisation, and optimisation, including racking, bin locations, and process flows.
* Inventory Management: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive inventory control system (WMS/ERP) for all spare parts, raw materials, and finished goods.
* Operations: Manage all day-to-day warehouse functions, including goods receiving, quality/quantity inspection, secure storage, and timely picking/kitting for production.
* Stock Control: Lead all inventory management activities, including regular cycle counts, full stocktakes, and variance investigations to ensure system accuracy.
* Stakeholder Management: Act as the key point of contact for logistics, confidently managing suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams (like production and procurement) to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any discrepancies.
* Compliance & Safety: Champion a safety-first culture and ensure all warehouse operations comply with WHS policies and procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a seasoned logistics professional who is not afraid to be hands-on. You thrive on managing systems and bringing order to a dynamic environment.
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in warehouse management or a senior supervisory role.
* Proven background in a logistics, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
* Demonstrated success in managing and optimising warehouse systems, processes, and procedures (experience in process implementation is highly advantageous).
* Strong proficiency with inventory management software (ERP/WMS).
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence and experience to be firm with suppliers and manage internal expectations.
* A high degree of organisation and meticulous attention to detail.
* A valid Australian Driver's Licence.
Highly Desirable
* Previous experience or exposure to purchasing and procurement functions.
