Your new role As Development Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of residential development projects, from site acquisition through to completion. You will manage feasibility, planning, stakeholder engagement, and construction oversight, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Feasibility & Acquisition
- Identify and assess current development opportunities.
- Conduct market research, financial modelling, and feasibility studies.
- Lead site due diligence and acquisition processes.
Planning & Design Coordination
- Collaborate with architects, planners, and modular construction teams.
- Oversee design development and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Manage planning approvals and regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder Management
- Engage with councils, consultants, contractors, and community groups.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with key partners.
- Communicate project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Project Delivery
- Oversee construction progress and manage risks.
- Ensure quality control, budget adherence, and timely delivery.
- Coordinate handover processes and post-completion reviews.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare project reports, financial updates, and board presentations.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
What you'll need to succeed Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Property, Urban Planning, Construction, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in residential development or project management.
- Robust understanding of modular construction and housing delivery models.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and financial modelling tools.
- Experience in build to rent and build to sell developments.
