Mechanic Position Available in FMCG Sector
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle and Agricultural Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role requires a versatile tradesperson capable of maintaining and repairing a diverse range of equipment, from heavy transport vehicles to specialized agricultural machinery.
* Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments to identify mechanical and electrical faults in engines, transmission systems, and complex vehicle components using advanced computerised testing equipment
* Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other critical components, conducting thorough inspections and measurements to assess wear and damage
* Repair and replace worn and defective parts, reassembling mechanical components to manufacturer specifications while referring to technical service manuals and engineering guidelines
* Perform detailed testing and adjustment of mechanical systems after repairs to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with operational standards
Required Skills and Qualifications
Formal trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, or Agricultural Mechanic is essential. Proven post-qualification experience in a similar role, preferably within transport, agriculture, or FMCG industries is also required.
* Comprehensive technical skill set across multiple engineering disciplines including welding, fabrication, and mechanical systems
* Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a demanding workshop environment
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail in all repair and maintenance activities
* Proven ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment
* Commitment to workplace safety with thorough understanding and application of safe work practices
