About the Role:
As a Labourer, you will be at the heart of our operations, carrying out essential duties related to the maintenance and construction of roads, drainage assets, and other civil infrastructure. Under the guidance of a supervisor or Leading Hand, your day-to-day tasks will include:
* Competent operation of a rigid motor vehicle with GVM of up to 15 tonnes.
* Competent operation of small ride-on equipment and light mechanical plant.
* Undertake tasks associated with maintenance and construction of roads, drainage and other civil infrastructure including earthworks, concrete, pipelaying, bitumen and vegetation work.
* Hands-on labouring tasks associated with the maintenance and construction of roads, drainage, and other civil infrastructure.
* Daily maintenance of assigned plant and working cooperatively with mechanical service personnel in the repair and maintenance of assigned plant, including recording of pre-start checks.
* Provide competent traffic management associated with the control and direction of vehicular traffic through and around work sites.
* Use technological/software devices to manage work orders and assign tasks.
* Always provide a high level of client service, to both internal and external clients.
* Complete required paperwork in a prompt and detailed manner, e.g. timesheets.
* Undertake basic numerical calculations to a standard commensurate with the duties involved in the position.
* On-the-job training of fellow work colleagues and transfer of knowledge and skills to fellow work colleagues.
* Commitment to actively participate in training and skill development to suit the work environment.
* Other responsibilities as delegated by Management within the scope of this position.

Qualifications and Skills:
* A current General Construction Safety "White" Card.
* A current QLD Manual Car ‘C’ Class Open Driver’s Licence.
* A current QLD Medium Rigid Truck ‘MR’ Class Licence (or the ability to obtain within 6 months of commencement).
* Current Traffic Controllers accreditation (TCT & TMI) (or the ability to obtain within 3 months of commencement).
* Experience in road and drainage construction and maintenance activities.
* Competency in operating small ride-on equipment and light mechanical plant.
* Good truck driving skills and competency.
* A commitment to high-level client service and the ability to work effectively within a team.
