QA Automation Engineer – Backend/SOA – ContractWe're hiring a QA Automation Engineer for a backend-focused testing role supporting enterprise systems.This 4 to 6-month contract offers the chance to extend and is based in Auckland, with a flexible hybrid model.You'll work in a fast-paced Agile environment with strong CI/CD practices.In this role, you will:Develop and execute automated tests using Java and Shell scripting.Focus on backend system testing including JPOS and SOA service layers.Work closely with developers, analysts, and release teams in a CI/CD pipeline.Use tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Jira to manage version control and delivery.Contribute to automated build/test processes with Cloudbees; basic experience with Chef is a bonus.Support performance testing initiatives and apply TDD/BDD where appropriate.Key Skills and Experience:Solid hands-on experience in Java test automation for backend systems.Familiarity with JPOS, SOA testing, and Shell scripting.Proficient in Git, Jenkins, Cloudbees, and Jira.Understanding of Agile delivery and CI/CD workflows.Exposure to performance testing and test-driven development practices.Domain experience in payments, cards, or ATM systems is highly desirable.About You:You bring proven experience in backend automation and thrive in structured Agile teams.
