Job Opportunity: Mechanical Engineer
You will play a critical role in supporting engineering governance and site operations for a major client. Working closely with the Principal Engineer, you will ensure mechanical systems are safe, compliant, and effective across site assets.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead reviews of mechanical systems and documents
* Conduct technical reviews of mechanical designs and drawings
* Provide guidance on mechanical standards and risk controls (e.g., dropped objects, stored energy)
* Support incident investigations, risk assessments, and management processes
* Participate in safety meetings and hazard identification activities
This position requires a tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years' experience in mining, preferably underground and with management experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Tertiary Mechanical Engineering qualification (trade or university)
* 5+ years' mining experience
* Underground and management experience (highly regarded)
* Competency in various software applications (e.g., SAP, Fiori, FLEX, Meridian, MS Office)
