We're a K-10 School of about 200 students situated on Lardil Country within a Community of Islands in the Gulf of Carpentaria, Far North West Queensland. About the Role:
As Deputy Principal, you will be working closely alongside another Deputy Principal to support the management of the School across the K-10 cohort. This is a flexible role, with some scope for negotiation around sharing of responsibilities, based on the strengths and desired areas of growth for the successful applicant.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
* Knowing the Australian Curriculum and able to oversee its implementation within a K -10 school setting.
* Ability to support the effective teaching of reading, through professional knowledge of the Reading Commitment and the Simple View of Reading.
* Understanding of key pedagogies that support success for I/EALD learners.
* Familiarity with the K-12 Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Framework (CARF) and able to oversee its implementation within a K-10 School setting.
* Ability to Line Manage a team of teachers and Middle Leaders and develop their capability utilising the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and Performance Development Plans.
* Ability to effectively manage student behaviour by supporting implementation of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) multi-tiered systems of support.
* Ability to communicate effectively and build trust relationships with parents, Community members and Service Providers to support all students at School to be successful.
