As Fundraising and Events Coordinator, you will help turn community support into real impact for families. From delivering local events to supporting fundraising campaigns, you'll play a hands-on role in creating meaningful experiences that bring people closer to our mission.
The Fundraising and Events Coordinator is a full-time, onsite role, with occasional work required outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends. Ronald McDonald House North Australia supports flexible, family-friendly working arrangements, with work times adaptable to the right candidate while remaining aligned to the needs of our mission.
The Role
As Fundraising and Events Coordinator, you will:
* Plan, coordinate, and deliver fundraising events and community activities in the Mackay region for Ronald McDonald House North Australia.
* Support Ronald McDonald House campaigns and events in region
* Provide stewardship support to community-led fundraising and third-party fundraising initiatives.
* Work closely with the Fundraising & Partnerships Lead to track and report on fundraising outcomes.
* Coordinate communications, volunteers, and operational logistics across stakeholder groups to ensure high-quality supporter experiences.
* Maintain accurate records and support compliance with fundraising policies and brand guidelines.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who:
* Is people focused and has a passion for community and event management
* Demonstrates strong organisational skills and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Communicates effectively with internal teams, volunteers, and external stakeholders.
* Can work independently while supporting broader regional and organisational objectives.
* Is passionate about making a difference for families in their community.
* Has a minimum of 1-2 years of event coordination experience.
* Has experience coordinating events or fundraising initiatives, with nonprofit or community sector experience preferred.
Essential Skills
* Proven experience coordinating events, campaigns, or community initiatives.
* Strong project/event management and organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal teams, supporters, and stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables while supporting regional and organisational objectives
* Attention to detail with high standards for accuracy and compliance, policies and procedures
* Capacity to engage and coordinate volunteers and external partners effectively
* Commitment to the Ronald McDonald House mission and values, with a genuine passion for supporting families in need.
* Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident to meet work authorisation requirements.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in regional or community fundraising within a nonprofit environment.
* Knowledge of marketing and communications principles to support event promotion and engagement.
* Experience managing budgets, sponsorships, or in-kind support.
* Competence in using CRM systems, databases, or fundraising/event management platforms. (Salesforce, Humantix, Excel and Microsoft Suite)
* Understanding of governance, risk, and compliance requirements in a fundraising context.
* Ability to contribute to strategic planning or post-event reporting and evaluation.
