The Business Analyst is accountable to the Line Manager, Taxation Services Team, Financial Services. The Business Analyst is responsible for undertaking designated project resource to assist Taxation Services on procedure/document. Beneficial for the role are strong writing skills, particularly in the context of operational procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Process financial transactions.
- Research and data collection skills.

- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Robust verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn/adapt quickly.
- Collate and analyse data associated with Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and Goods and Services Tax (GST).
- Assist in the preparation of statutory reports and management reports while complying with records management requirements.
- Work effectively both individually and as a member of the team to meet deadlines, identify and solve problems.
- Collaborate with their team towards daily targets and actively contribute to achieve shared goals.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Holds, or is currently studying towards, an appropriate tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or economics.
- General taxation knowledge.
- A current National Police Clearance check is mandatory
- Experience with Financial Reporting/Accounting
- Experience in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word and Excel (Intermediate)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven attention to detail and accuracy
- A background in finance and taxation is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of work
- Honed ability to meet strict deadlines
- Sharp numerical reasoning skills and research/data collection skills
- Quick and eager learner of new systems
