Our team is entirely local and we intend to keep it that way. We believe great client outcomes come from a consistent, knowledgeable team that knows the clients personally, not from volume-based or offshore models. The director of this firm is a CA with 16 years of experience and deep technical capability across complex tax, SMSF, and business advisory. He is also the person who built and runs the firm's technology infrastructure, drives process improvement, and serves as the senior technical resource for the most complex client work. What You Will Own
Day-to-day management of workflow, compliance deadlines, and job allocation across the team. Staff oversight, performance management, and development. Billing and WIP management, ensuring the firm's financial disciplines are applied consistently. Building and maintaining client relationships across a broad service offering. Contributing to the strategic direction of the firm alongside the director. Identifying opportunities to grow the practice and improve how it operates.
What the Director Brings to the Table
Deep technical expertise across tax, SMSF, and complex advisory work. Senior client relationship management for key accounts. Technology strategy, systems, and automation. Mentorship, strategic direction, and the backing of 13 years of reputation in the local market.
Who We Are Looking For
You are CA or CPA qualified with solid public practice experience and you have managed people before. You understand what it takes to run a practice, not just work in one. You may have run your own firm and found the isolation of going it alone harder than the work itself. You may be a senior manager in a larger firm who is ready for something with more autonomy, more ownership, and more upside. Either way, you are someone who thrives on structure, accountability, and getting things done, and you are looking for a role where that actually matters.
You do not need SMSF experience, though it is welcome. What you do need is the maturity to step into a leadership role, the ambition to grow something, and the professionalism to do it without disrupting what is already working well.
You will fit here if you are local to Melbourne's south-east and comfortable being a consistent, visible presence in the office. Like the director, you will have the flexibility to work from home when it suits, but this is a leadership role and leading from the front means being around. If you are looking for a fully remote position, this is probably not the right fit.
