Do Work That Matters

The Chief Operations Office (COO) keeps the Bank running and powers our customer obsession. We are the process engine room supporting the fulfilment of a wide range of products for CBA's Retail, Commercial and Institutional customers, along with running regulatory operations and Group regulatory projects.

The Market Operations (MO) team within COO is accountable for operations activities that support the Global Markets, Settlements, Trade Finance, Institutional Lending and Transaction Banking products for Institutional and Business Bank clients across Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.

Your Role - Impact & Contribution

We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead the improvement, redesign, and scaling of enterprise processes through automation within the Institutional Lending and Transactional Banking operations team.

This role focuses on understanding business problems, identifying inefficiencies, and translating those insights into practical, scalable solutions that improve outcomes across the organisation.

The role combines strong process and workflow design capability with an understanding of automation, data, and emerging AI-enabled solutions.

Success in this role requires the ability to work closely with stakeholders to understand how work is done today, envision improved future‐state processes, and guide delivery teams in implementing those improvements using appropriate platforms and tools.

Hands‐on experience with automation platforms and AI‐enabled workflows is beneficial, but the primary emphasis is on process thinking, solution design, and business impact.

Roles & Responsibilities:

* Process & Workflow Improvement Leadership: Lead the analysis and redesign of business processes to improve efficiency, quality, and customer and colleague experience, translating business problems into clear target‐state workflows and delivery roadmaps.
* Automation & Platform Enablement: Drive the design and delivery of workflow and automation solutions, partnering with delivery teams to leverage platforms such as Power Apps, Power Automate, and related technologies.
* Intelligent Workflows & Decision Support: Shape the use of AI‐enabled workflows and decision‐support capabilities, working with data, analytics, and engineering teams to embed intelligence where it delivers clear value.
* Data & Insight Driven Improvement: Enable data‐led processes using performance metrics and insights, leveraging tools such as Power BI or Tableau to support transparency, monitoring, and continuous optimisation.
* Stakeholder & Delivery Management: Engage and align stakeholders across business and technical teams, acting as a bridge between them and managing vendors and cross‐functional partners to deliver agreed outcomes.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

* Demonstrated experience in a similar role with a focus on process improvement and automation within the banking industry
* Advanced SQL analytical skills.
* Hands‐on experience with:
o Microsoft Power Apps
o Power Automate
o PowerBI or Tableau
* Experience designing and implementing AI agents and AI‐driven workflow (preferred)
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‐on execution.
