The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the GM – Sales & Marketing will turn ambition into numbers: shaping strategy, unlocking new markets and building a high-performance commercial culture. You will own sales, marketing and customer success end to end, with a clear strategic focus.
What You’ll Do
Craft & execute a three-year go-to-market plan aligned to our product roadmap and operational capacity.
Deepen partnerships with Defence primes, rail operators, resources majors, system integrators and government stakeholders.
Lead, coach and expand a multidisciplinary team (currently six) into a high-performing, accountable unit.
Drive discipline in pipeline management and forecasting through HubSpot CRM.
Champion value-based pricing and bid strategies that maximise gross margin.
Elevate the brand via digital demand-generation, thought leadership and flagship industry events.
Report transparently to the Board, ensuring compliance with export-control and ethical standards.
Success in the First 18 Months
Strategic Sales Plan endorsed and operational.
Bookings trajectory tracking to plan with faster pipeline velocity.
Gross margin maintained or improved across key segments.
Brand recognition lifted—measurable increase in inbound qualified leads.
High-performance culture embedded within the commercial team.
About You
Proven track record growing B2B solution sales (>$20 m p.a.) for complex, engineered products.
Familiar with Australian Defence acquisition cycles and AIC expectations.
Astute negotiator with a disciplined, value-based pricing mindset.
Proficient with modern CRM and marketing automation stacks; HubSpot experience highly regarded.
Tertiary qualification in business, engineering or a related discipline.
Inclusive leader who models accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
