Are you passionate about transforming the lives of young people in Out of Home Care? We are looking for a Therapeutic Practice Coordinator within the Ipswich and Toowoomba area to bring their OOHC expertise and commitment to trauma-informed care into a role with real impact. Our client leads the way in providing young people at risk, who exhibit complex emotional and behavioural problems, with intensive therapeutic support. Our approach is individualised but based on small, stable, and consistent teams that build trust with the young person, stabilise their behaviours and give them a sense of hope and direction, positively impacting many young lives. The Opportunity The Therapeutic Practice Coordinator will work directly in regional Operations alongside leadership and front-line teams to support and guide the service in providing therapeutic care to young people we support informed following the Integrated Practice Framework, evidence-based practice, and innovations in therapeutic, trauma-informed care. The Therapeutic Practice Coordinator will have oversight in the daily care of young people and play a key role in influencing case planning to ensure care decisions are made in the best interests of the young person and preferred models of care are consistently applied within the service and practice. Delivers Trusted Advice. Remains current with best practice in trauma informed care, legislative knowledge and licencing process applying this when advising on practice on therapeutic strategies and behaviour support planning. Be an advocate and guide for meeting the therapeutic needs of young people through engagement with internal and external stakeholders. Promote Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). Will be able to offer and deliver a variety of TCI training packages which can be tailored to the needs of the area. Post-crisis support. Support front-line team members and operational leaders to provide post crisis responses and support following critical incidents, including critical incident analysis. Facilitate case review functions at a local level to provide recommendations and expertise in care planning through Case Clinics, and associated documentation including PBSP's in a way that drives quality outcomes and therapeutic care for our Young People. Provide a voice to the Young People in our care through annual survey's, team meetings and site visits. Consult, as required, on intakes and referrals, including risk assessments and supporting the team to prepare the property and planning after a referral has been confirmed. About You Our Therapeutic Practice Coordinator will bring a genuine passion to make a difference in the lives of young people and our communities, holding certain attributes and demonstrated knowledge and experience. Attributes will include: Bachelor's degree in psychology, Social Work, or related discipline or Diploma of Community Services (or related discipline) Minimum 2 years relevant experience within out of home care. Strong understanding of child development, complex trauma, and therapeutic models of care. Be values based, known for your professionalism, integrity, and trusted advice. People focused, valuing the individual in all aspects of therapeutic care. Demonstrated informal leadership with s uccess in coaching, guiding, and improving care practice. Solution focused, collaborative, clearly articulating and inspiring growth in others. Well-developed communication and presentation skills, including stakeholder presentation, consultation, and negotiation. Desirable attributes: Train the Trainer capability - Certificate IV in Training & Assessment Specialist knowledge - experience in areas such as post-crisis management, developmental disabilities, proactive aggression management, or self-harm behaviours Training delivery - proven ability to design and deliver practice-based training to staff.
