About the service:
The Medicare Mental Health Service is a free, accessible resource that does not require appointments or referrals. We provide a streamlined approach to better mental health and social wellbeing across the country.
This service caters to the needs of the Tasmanian community, offering a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support.
The Medicare Mental Health Centre provides a safe environment for individuals experiencing psychological distress, allowing them to:
* Explore alternatives to emergency departments
* Access support from trained mental health professionals within their community

* A 0.5FTE part-time, permanent opportunity available

Job Overview:
* Deliver quality psychosocial assessments, low-intensity brief interventions, and evaluations
* Implement a Brief Intervention Model of care; up to 6 sessions for mild-moderate, short-term, goal-oriented focused psychological therapy and generalist counselling
* Participate as a member of the Medicare Mental Health Centre clinical team in providing comprehensive mental health assessment, case coordination, intervention, or group work as required; with specific responsibility to provide Brief Interventions
* Complete Intake Assessments as needed
Requirements:
* Hold one of the following: Social Worker with AASW registration/eligibility, Counsellor with Level 2 PACFA or ACA registration, General or Provisional AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Nurse
* Demonstrate a highly competent level of knowledge and skill to undertake routine clinical practice with a comprehensive understanding within the continuum of care
* Demonstrate the ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team utilising comprehensive communication skills to establish effective partnerships and provide consultation to the team as well as government and other non-government service providers
* Demonstrate the ability to contribute to the professional development of self and others through education, professional networking, and application of evidence-based practice
* Demonstrate a comprehensive level of profession-specific knowledge, expertise, and skill; specifically Brief Intervention Models of Care
* Be eligible to apply/currently hold a Working With Children Clearance
* Be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
