About the Role
As our HSE Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our commitment to safety. You’ll lead initiatives that protect our people, ensure compliance, and embed safety into our culture. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in an organization that values teamwork, accountability and care.
You will have previous experience in a Health & Safety leadership role within the residential construction industry, and your key responsibilities will include:
* Maintain the HSE Management system to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory obligations, standards, codes of practice and other industry requirements.
* Develop, implement and monitor the approved Safety Improvement Strategy.
* Management and mentoring of four passionate safety professionals including three HSE Advisors and a HSE Administrator.
* Maintain the existing ISO45001 certification.
* Oversight of all HSE reporting processes to ensure data is accurate, meaningful and leveraged to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and outcomes.
* Lead management of incident investigations and regulator interactions.
* Provide expert advice and support to managers and staff on HSE matters.
* Work closely with construction teams and trades to strengthen safety culture and practices.
* Conduct periodic site inspections
* Deliver engaging safety training and awareness programs
* Pro-active and professional engagement with Safework NSW and WorkSafe Qld.
* Chair the monthly HSE management meeting, present safety content at Construction management meetings and prepare periodic reporting for the Board of Directors.
* Management oversight of work cover claims, rehabilitation and return to work cases
* Participate in Industry Safety Alliance meetings.
* Interstate travel will be required periodically.
What We are Looking For
* Previous experience in a HSE leadership role within the residential construction industry.
* HSE qualifications (Cert IV, Diploma or Higher)
* Thorough working knowledge of HSE related legislation.
* Strong interpersonal skills to engage, educate, and motivate supervisors and contractors toward a positive safety culture
* Experience with implementation and maintaining ISO 45001 certification.
* Ability to maintain a consistent and very high standard of work at all times.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Demonstrate honesty and integrity and promote positive working relationships.
