Paddington Café Geelong is a local café offering freshly prepared breakfast and lunch options in a welcoming and community-focused environment. We pride ourselves on consistent food quality, efficient service, and maintaining high kitchen standards. Due to steady customer demand, we are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team on a full-time basis.
Location: Belmont VIC 3216 Position: Cook – Full-Time Salary: $77,000 – $80,000 + Superannuation About the Role The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking café menu items while supporting smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.
This is a hands-on role requiring efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively during busy service periods. Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch menu items in accordance with café standards.
* Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation of all dishes.
* Carry out food preparation tasks including chopping, portioning, and mise en place.
* Monitor ingredient freshness and ensure correct storage and stock rotation.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and food preparation areas.
* Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
* Assist with stock control and ordering of supplies.
* Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
* Support timely service during peak trading periods.
* Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery.
Skills & Experience
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
* 1-2 years of experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen or café environment.
* Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Good teamwork and communication skills.
* Attention to detail and commitment to consistent food quality.
