About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Work Group Leader Signals,you will play a key role in maintaining the operational integrity, safety, andefficiency of a designated section of the rail corridor. This position involveshands-on technical work as well as contributing to continuous improvement andteam capability.
* Install, modify, maintain, and repair signalling and communications equipment in line with technical maintenance plans, signalling standards, and safe working procedures
* Conduct inspections and testing of signalling equipment, diagnoseand isolate faults, and ensure all required certifications are completedaccurately
* Install and maintain mechanical signalling, locking, andinterlocking systems
* Maintain signalling infrastructure, including aerialtelecommunications lines and cabling
* Respond promptly to emergencies and equipment irregularities,ensuring systems are safely restored to service
* Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance practices andwork processes
* Supervise and train team members to ensure compliance withsignalling standards and safe work practices
What do we want from you?
* Qualified Signal Electrician with relevant trade or technical experience.
* Knowledge and practical ability to implement rail safety management, OHS principles, and electrical codes of practice.
* Experienced in field fault finding, maintenance, and repair of signalling systems.
* To work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Skilled in applying quality systems, policies, and procedures.
* Driver's Licence – Class C
* ARTC Statement of Competency (Signals) or proven ability to attain via Signals Competency Assessment.

About the Team
Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.
The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.
