This is an opportunity for an experienced APS 6 Clinician to work within multidisciplinary teams in the Northern Territory. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the self-sufficiency, quality of life, and financial wellbeing of those who have served Australia. You will be supported with ongoing learning and development opportunities and funded clinical supervision.
About your next role
As an APS 6 Clinician, you will deliver essential, evidence-based clinical services, including:
* Providing high-quality clinical services, such as risk assessment and intervention, referral, and evidence-based individual, couple, and family counselling.
* Conducting reviews on counselling progress to establish further needs and determine extensions to episodes of care.
* Maintaining confidential files in the Client Management System, including session progress notes, care plans, and risk assessments.
* Liaising with the Assistant Director and other Clinicians for regular case reviews, particularly complex cases or those requiring extensions of care.
* Coordinating care by liaising with clients' family members, additional treatment providers, and other relevant stakeholders.
* Adhering to all relevant legislation, ethical guidelines, and policies for best-practice client care.
* Attending Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, including clinical supervision, to maintain professional registration.
* Potentially co-facilitating treatment and psychoeducation programs and participating in community development, service promotion, program evaluation, and quality improvement activities.
What you will need to bring
* Be an Australian Citizen and able to pass a baseline clearance
* Hold or obtain a WWCC or WWVP
* Must hold one of the following: Qualifications as a registered or provisional Psychologist / Occupational Therapist / Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration. (Provisional Psychologists must provide evidence of their expected timeline to full registration).
* Social Worker with membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) on commencement.
* A Masters-level counselling qualification and registration with PACFA as a Registered Clinical Counsellor or with ACA at Level 3 or Level 4
Qualifications
* Excellent interpersonal skills with competency in providing trauma-informed, holistic, client-centered intake, assessment, and brief intervention.
* Ability to complete clinically appropriate documentation and formulated risk assessments that are tailored, appropriate, and actioned according to presenting risk.
* Currency of knowledge regarding relevant policies (including Risk Escalation pathways), adherence to procedures, sound judgement, and the ability to respond to critical incidents calmly.
* High levels of integrity and emotional intelligence, and a commitment to demonstrating respect for all clients.
