Building Design Engineer
Our Building Team provides comprehensive design services to a wide range of sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, and residential. Leveraging our extensive local knowledge, we deliver high-quality solutions through the utilisation of diverse engineering expertise in concrete, structural steel, masonry, and timber structures.
This is a technical role primarily focused on delivering solutions across various engineering projects. The position involves collaboration with principal and senior level engineers to prepare detailed calculations for building structural systems and elements. Key responsibilities include:
* Preparation of detailed calculations for building structural systems and elements
* Operation of analytical models and contributing to running complex models
* Preparation of sketches and technical reports
* Review of structural documentation
* Co-ordination of designs with other project team consultants
* Participation in internal design team meetings and in external meetings with clients and consultants
* Visits to construction and project sites to perform site inspections and provide observation reports and supporting engineering advice
Key qualifications and experience required for this role include:
* Relevant engineering qualifications such as being a Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership
* At least 4 years of experience in building design and engineering practices
* Client liaison experience
* Capability to perform planning, concept and detailed design
