We're looking for a hands-on leader with a strong commitment to safety, operational excellence and people development to step into the role of Operations Leader at our South Australia site and drive our business forward.
About the Role
This full-time position has overall responsibility for the daily operations of our site, with a strong focus on:
Safety leadership and compliance (ISO9001, ISO 45001, ISO14001 & FM)
Quality control and continuous improvement
Planning production and cost control
Manufacturing and production outputs
Waste and inventory management
Logistics
You'll play a critical role ensuring that our site complies with all Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), Environmental requirements and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs). You'll also champion a culture of safety first and customer service excellence. You will work closely with the other cross-functional teams across Australia and New Zealand to meet business goals.
Key Activities & Responsibilities:
Health & Safety & Environment
Lead a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with all audits and standards
Report, record and respond to all incidents and ensure fire safety and licensing compliance
Promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices
Production & Operations
Oversee daily and long-term production schedules
Manage labour, equipment and material resources to achieve targets
Ensure SOP adherence, quality control and timely reporting
Drive collaboration between departments to maximise efficiency
Customer Service & Logistics
Ensure lead times are met, resolve quality issues promptly
Optimise truck utilisation and manage freight costs effectively
Oversee sourcing and quality of raw materials
Maintain accurate inventory levels and standard cost pricing
Participate in cost-saving initiatives and supplier feedback
Lead, develop and retain team members
Manage HR matters and recruitment where necessary
Regularly review skills matrix and drive continuous improvement plans
Approve factory costs, supplier invoices and ensure compliance to company approval processes
Quality Systems & Reporting
Embed quality into daily operations
Contribute to ISO audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Produce and coordinate regular operational and safety reports
What You'll Bring:
Proven leadership skills with a practical, hands-on approach
Strong planning, coordination and organisational skills
Background in manufacturing or industrial operations highly desirable, candidates with leadership and process management experience from the automotive or parts manufacturing industry are especially encouraged to apply
Computer literate with intermediate Excel & Word skills
ERP system knowledge (Pronto preferred)
Positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to implement and manage site processes consistently
Naturally organised with solid administration capability
