Our Opportunity
Work Location: Hedland Operations – Fortescue's Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people. This role is located at the Anderson Point offices.
Roster: The roster is 8/6 FIFO ex Perth or residentially based in Port Hedland.
Reporting to the Tippler Cells Project Manager, this role will be responsible for the successful planning and execution of Tippler Cell Replacements (car dumpers) at Fortescue's Anderson Point Port Facility. We are looking for a candidate with extensive project management and mechanical industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Working alongside Maintenance, Operations and Engineering Reliability departments to ensure full understanding and requirements of project scopes
* Building initial scope of work, project schedules, cost estimates and project timelines
* Overseeing Early Engineering requirements and structural design studies
* Engaging stakeholders and chairing regular update meetings
* Adhering to Fortescue's project framework, work management and shutdown procedures
* Raising notifications in SAP
* Tendering / Engaging vendors, participating in contract reviews
* Sourcing, ordering and tracking long lead items
* Attending contractor, planning and shutdown execution meetings
* Managing project execution both online and offline, including altering roster during execution periods with potential night shift
* Tracking and reforecasting project budgets with cost controllers
* Attending contract contractor compliance review meetings
* Updating master data, inspection checklists, redlines and other associated documents
* Identifying improvement projects
* Managing Work Order Backlog
* Closing out projects once completed
* Compliance to engineering department performance KPI's
* Conduct Field Interactions on work groups to promote safe work practices
Qualifications And Experience
* Minimum 10-15 years' experience in Mining/Heavy Industrial environment
* Minimum 5-10 years' experience in Project Management
* Bachelor of Mechanical engineering
* Competency in SAP (preferred)
* Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint (Essential)
* Good leadership skills with ability to positively influence people to achieve their targets
* Support teams with MS Office applications, SAP and general computer training
* High level written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to interact at all levels
* Self-driven, willing to be flexible and demonstrate initiative without supervision
* Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure
