We're seeking an Accountant to support essential financial functions that drive impactful programs and create positive change in our communities.
The Role
The Accountant plays a key role in supporting the financial and accounting functions of Centacare. The position is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely financial processing, reporting, and compliance in line with accounting standards and organisational policies.
Key duties include managing the general ledger, preparing monthly financial reports, reconciling payroll, assisting with budgeting, supporting audits, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves contributing to system improvements, training staff, and providing day-to-day assistance to the finance team.
Essential
* Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in general ledger accounting, including preparation of account reconciliations and execution of month-end and year-end close processes
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial data and reporting
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent organisational skills
* Relevant degree qualification (e.g. Finance, Business, Accounting) or experience deemed equivalent.
* Advanced skills in MS Excel
* Outstanding communication skills both verbal and in writing
