Justice is at the heart of this role, where you will work closely with our court-based program, Court Link, based in Mount Isa.
Court Link is a holistic support service that connects participants with treatment and support services to address housing, employment, drug and alcohol, health, and other social needs. You will have the opportunity to be an integral part of this program, providing information to court users and stakeholders about all available programs and supports through the Courts Innovation Program.
* You will provide information and advice to court users and stakeholders about all programs and supports available through the Courts Innovation Program.
* You will manage a case load of participants with complex and multiple needs, developing case management plans and intervention strategies to ensure participants engage with appropriate support and treatment services.
* You will assess the risk and needs of participants, applying sound practice, judgment and decision making to manage your caseload and ensure participant activities are consistent with evidence-based practice.
* You will develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including government and non-government organisations, to initiate, negotiate and facilitate linkages and access for participants to a range of appropriate services.
* You will provide verbal and written advice, including the preparation of accurate progress and final reports in a timely manner to the court, to assist with bail and sentencing decisions.
* You will liaise, consult, and negotiate with the judiciary, legal profession, and court staff in relation to the management of participants within the program.
* You will recommend decisions about the appropriateness of brokerage funding expenditure and appropriate use of resources for participants.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with participants and stakeholders. You will have a high level of cultural capability and understanding of the complexities of working with vulnerable people.
