The Role

Tasks & Responsibilities
* Mentor and teach young people essential life skills.
* Build rapport and trust, acting as a positive and reliable role model.
* Maintain resilience to overcome challenging behaviour:
o Guide young people towards positive behaviors using redirection and negotiation techniques.
* Form nurturing relationships through active engagement:
o Ensure the young person's essential needs are met, including a balanced diet, hygiene prompts, school support, and positive life experiences.
o Promote independent living skills, such as cooking, budgeting, shopping, and household maintenance.
o Engage young people in activities aimed at developing life skills and self-worth.
o Support children/young people in building their capacity to be a part of their community.
o Maintain a clean and safe home environment.
Requirements
* Holds a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Community Services, or a relevant qualification (or be currently working towards it).
* Demonstrates the ability to implement strategies and tactics to de‐escalate challenging behaviours.
* Has expertise in engaging.
* Holds a driver's license and has access to a vehicle.
* Has a Working With Children Check / Blue Card.
* Is available to work all shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and nights.
