PanAust Limited is an Australian-headquartered copper and gold mining company with operations in Laos, and pre-development assets in Papua New Guinea and Chile.
In Laos, PanAust owns a 90 per cent interest in Phu Bia Mining Limited with the Government of Laos owning the remaining 10 per cent. PBMPhu Bia Mining owns and operates PanAust's two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane.
In Papua New Guinea, PanAust holds a 100 per cent interest in the Frieda River Limited Copper-Gold project, which is a transformative pre-development integrated mining, renewable energy and infrastructure project.
In Chile, PanAust holds a 66 per cent interest in the Inca de Oro Copper-Gold Project through a Chilean incorporated joint venture company, Inca de Oro S. A.
The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Group Finance Manager to join our team, based in our Corporate Head Office in Fortitude Valley's James Street precinct.
Reporting to the General Manager Finance, the Group Finance Manager will provide leadership across Group consolidated financial reporting, governance, treasury, budgeting, and statutory compliance, supporting a geographically diverse portfolio of operating and development assets.
The role plays a critical part in maintaining strong financial discipline, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring high-quality financial outcomes across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the role include:
* Leading Group financial reporting, month-end close, and consolidation processes across multiple jurisdictions
* Overseeing Group treasury, cash flow management, and funding activities, including short- and long-term forecasting
* Managing the annual budgeting and forecasting process and providing timely performance insights to senior management
* Ensuring strong governance, internal controls, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
* Coordinating external audits and managing relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and other professional advisors
* Leading and developing the Group finance team while working closely with in-country finance teams
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline, with CPA or CA qualification
* Proven experience working across multiple jurisdictions, particularly Australia, Laos, Chile, and Papua New Guinea
* Strong technical accounting expertise, including group consolidations, intercompany accounting, management fees, hedge accounting, and month-end close
* Experience overseeing Australian tax compliance (FBT, BAS, PAYG, payroll tax, transfer pricing) and coordinating with external tax advisors on cross-border matters
* Expertise in cash flow management, treasury, and budgeting, including dividend planning and intercompany funding arrangements
* Demonstrated leadership capability, leading a small finance team while collaborating effectively with a broader global finance function
* Previous experience within the mining or resources sector
* Mandarin Chinese language capability is highly regarded
