Reliability Engineer Griffith University • Nathan, Queensland, Australia

About The Role Reliability Engineers act as a bridge between development and operations, applying a software engineering mindset to system administration challenges. They divide their time between operational/on‑call responsibilities and building systems and software that enhance site reliability and performance. They provide Application Infrastructure Administration services for enterprise and corporate platforms including PeopleSoft ERP systems, Oracle databases, middleware components, related infrastructure and integrations, ensuring optimal performance, availability and scalability of enterprise systems.

Reliability Engineers develop self‑service tools for internal users who depend on their services. They collaborate closely with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet non‑functional requirements such as availability, performance, scalability, security, observability, and maintainability. This includes implementing monitoring and alerting frameworks, conducting reliability reviews, and automating infrastructure to enforce consistency and resilience from development through to production. Additionally, they contribute to the continuous improvement of reliability engineering practices, tools and methods.
