The Team

The Tasmanian Eating Disorder Service (TEDS) delivers integrated specialist care for adults with an eating disorder. This includes Community‐Based Intensive Treatment (CBIT) Programs in the North, Northwest and South. We are looking for clinicians with an interest in eating disorders who are innovators and have a passion for delivering quality care.

The Role

As part of the TEDS state‐wide multidisciplinary team, deliver high‐quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.

* Provides quality psychological service utilising evidence‐based and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
* Provides evidence‐based psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions to people with an eating disorder and their families or carers.
* Promotes community awareness in relation to eating disorders and develops and enhances relationships with other mental health service providers. Acts as a consultant to other agencies regarding the support and management of clients with mental health needs.

You will need

* Demonstrated proficient clinical and professional knowledge in the area directly applicable to treatment of complex mental health disorders with adults and/or knowledge or experience working with eating disorders.
* Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skill in contemporary psychological practice including comprehensive evidence‐based psychological assessments, therapeutic interventions and the ability to contribute to the development of individual and group programs.
* High level interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills including demonstrated experience in liaising effectively with other services and agencies in the context of providing specialised psychological mental health assessment, advice and training.

Details of appointment

* Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
* Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$117,272 to $123,487 per annum. Our employer 12 % superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2025.

Salary Packaging

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances

* Please note that access to salaries beyond $123,487 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
* Professional Development Allowance of up to $1,000 per annum.

Eligibility

* Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

* Experience working with people experiencing eating disorders or other mental health conditions.
* Endorsement by the Psychology Board of Australia as a Clinical Psychologist.
* Post‐graduate degree in Psychology.
* Eating Disorder Credentialed practitioner.
* Current driver's licence. Where required for a particular role: Area of Practice Endorsement i.e., Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, Counselling Psychology, Community Psychology, Educational and Developmental Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology, Organisational Psychology, or Sport and Exercise Psychology.

Position Features

Participate in the TEDS Community Based Intensive Treatment and Residential Recovery Program which delivers services for adults (16 year and older) with an eating disorder and their family and carers.
