About the role
We are seeking a Sales Assistant to perform customer focused retail tasks that support the daily operation of the store and the missional objectives of The Salvation Army.
This will include the maximisation of sales and productivity to deliver surplus to support Corps activities. The thrift shop also exists as a valued mission expression of the ministry of The Salvation Army.
Reporting to the Thrift Shop Manager, this is a permanent part-time role, 16 hours per week, based in located in Mooroopna, VIC.
You will successfully
* Deliver exceptional customer service across the shop floor, fitting rooms and register while maintaining store presentation and stock organisation
* Support and coordinate store marketing, promotions and housekeeping activities to enhance the customer experience
* Accurately process donations, manage pricing and adhere to secure cash handling and banking procedures
* Ensure compliance with Work Health and safety standards, site security and incident reporting protocols
* Lead, coach and support team members, performing store opening/closing and other duties as directed by management
You will have
* Relevant retail industry and/or customer service experience
* Demonstrated customer service experience working in a retail environment with an ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
* Sound presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written) with an ability to interact with a variety of people
* Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively

Conditions
Compensation is in accordance with the General Retail Award Level 3.
