Culturally Responsive Community Liaison
The NSW Department of Education seeks a Culturally Responsive Community Liaison to support schools in building inclusive, cohesive and engaging relationships with families and communities from diverse backgrounds.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will provide expert advice and guidance to school leaders and staff in developing and implementing culturally responsive initiatives that promote equity and inclusivity. This role will work closely with targeted schools to foster strong partnerships between schools and their communities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and deliver professional learning programs for school leaders and staff on cultural responsiveness and community engagement;
* Provide expert support and guidance to school leaders on navigating complex stakeholder environments and building relationships with diverse communities;
* Co-design and implement culturally responsive initiatives that promote equity and inclusivity in schools;
* Develop communication strategies and materials to promote cultural diversity and inclusivity in schools;
Requirements:
* Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check for paid employment;
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team;
* Experience working in a culturally responsive and inclusive environment;
