Senior SQL Server Database Administrator
Location: Flexible – Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane (Hybrid work options available)
Contract: ASAP to 30 June 2026 (with 12-month extension)
Rate: $120 - $140 per hour (inclusive of super) based on experience
Security Clearance: NV1 required

What You'll Do
* Design & Deliver: Build and deploy SQL Server solutions (2016–2022), Azure SQL Database and SQL Managed Instance.
* Optimise & Automate: Develop scalable database solutions with advanced T-SQL, indexing, partitioning, and automation (PowerShell/T-SQL).
* Secure & Protect: Implement Entra authentication, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and ensure systems meet strict cyber and governance standards.
* Support & Solve: Provide production support, troubleshoot incidents, and work with security teams to address vulnerabilities.
* Enhance & Integrate: Drive automation, reporting (SSRS), integration (SSIS) and data pipeline development.
* Be Event-Ready: Provide on-call support and extended hours during key project milestones.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience administering SQL Server 2016–2022 and Azure SQL Managed Instance environments.
* Strong T-SQL development and performance tuning skills.
* Hands-on expertise with SSRS, SSIS, SQL XML/JSON, and PowerShell automation.
* Ability to maintain high-availability, secure database systems and create monitoring dashboards.
Bonus Skills
* Data modelling and Power BI development/administration.
* Experience with other RDBMS (Postgres, MySQL, Cosmos DB).
* Knowledge of Azure high availability options, Bicep scripting.
