The Role
This role is responsible for the daily operational management of programme delivery, ensuring all contractual requirements are met within cost, schedule and technical constraints, while supporting Cubic's broader business objectives.
The position requires a highly experienced professional capable of operating with limited supervision and exercising sound judgement and decision-making authority.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Operational Delivery
Plan, prioritise and manage daily operational activities to meet assigned programme requirements
Establish operational priorities and schedules aligned with contractual commitments
Manage contract delivery in accordance with current commercial arrangements
Track and adapt delivery requirements to address risks, issues and emerging challenges
Manage key events and deliverables within the CITSS PDA
People, Resources & Logistics
Direct manning requirements and allocate resources to meet contract needs
Manage all labour aspects, including permanent, casual and subcontracted personnel
Oversee contract delivery in remote and field locations, including accommodation planning and onsite management
Coordinate travel and administrative support with Programme Support staff
Interface with customers on delivery specifics, logistics and manning requirements
Coordinate with the Programme Manager to confirm scope, costings and quotations
Arrange and attend customer meetings, reviews and working groups
Represent the Programme and Cubic Defence Australia at meetings, visits and conferences
Governance, Reporting & Improvement
Support the design and implementation of governance requirements where directed
Conduct regular evaluation and review meetings to identify issues and drive resolution
Prepare and submit progress reports to senior management and customers
Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure contractual compliance
Verify timely invoicing inputs are provided to Programme Support
Support or represent the Programme Manager during periods of absence
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance delivery responsiveness
General Duties
Comply with Cubic's Quality Management System
Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies
Maintain security compliance in accordance with organisational requirements
Adhere to Cubic Human Resources policies and procedures
Undertake other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years' military or relevant defence-related experience
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project and operational management
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven leadership, team-building and stakeholder management capability
Resilient, proactive and decisive with a strong results focus
High level of computer literacy
Ability to work flexibly, including travel and extended hours as required
Conditions of Employment
Successful completion of a National Police Check
Ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA security clearance at NV1 or higher
