**Our Journey**:
Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
The General Services department at Casey Hospital, Berwick requires an Environmental Services Assistant to work as part of our team in the public areas of the hospital.
**S**hifts Available**:
Permanent Part-time ongoing
Public Areas
Thursday and Friday 14.00 - 21.00
(26 hours per fortnight)
**A Day in the Life**:
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Environmental cleaning
- Cleaning of floors surfaces
- Cleaning stairwells, windows, window ledges and other surfaces.
- Bathroom and toilet cleaning
**What you bring**:
A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team and flexibility to change shifts or cover staff leave at short notice
**On a Personal level**:
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Is able to work unsupervised but take direction
**What you need**:
- A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service and cleaning in a healthcare environment
- Clear understanding of the Victorian Public Hospital Cleaning Standards
- Excellent understanding of infection control procedures
- Effective organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Ability to understand, follow and implement written instructions and company procedures
- The ability to maintain the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality
- A "Can Do" attitude with the capability to problem solve and troubleshoot
- Basic to intermediate computer/digital skills
