About the opportunity
As a leading technical engineer in our company, you'll play a pivotal role in our growth strategy, and benefit as a result. Working in our Melbourne office you'll leverage your technical know-how and team acumen to:
* Over time be trained and develop to be the lead and mentor of the technical engineering team
* Act as a technical authority for customers, partners, and internal teams
* Provide technical direction on machine vision and imaging projects
* Support our customers with system design, development, integration, and commissioning
* Leverage your technical expertise to understand client needs and propose tailored machine vision components and solutions, in collaboration with our sales team
* Contribute to product evaluation, selection, and development of our own IP
* Ensure high standards of technical documentation and best practices
* Work with customers in a number of regions in ANZ - proudly and confidently supporting
* Build and nurture positive, trusted relationships with our existing customers and clients
Here's what we're looking for in our next Technical Engineer:
To thrive in this role, you'll:
* Have an engineering background (ideally mechatronic or electronic), with a degree or post-graduate degree
* Have matured in your career with 5+ years experience, ideally with exposure to computing and software programming on Windows and Linux platforms
* Be genuinely passionate about, and skilled in electronics, computing, and software
* Be capable with CAD and some simple mechanical design
* Have a thirst to learn those disciplines you currently may not have experience with: lighting, optics, sensor physics, signal processing and transmission, computing, software
* Have excellent english verbal and written communications skills
* You'll be working in a team of technical support engineers, and you will need a mind that embraces complex, technical problems and solutions
* Be energised in proactively engaging people and the market, including some ANZ travel
