Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer to provide regular updates, market intelligence and reporting, the Head of Sales – Reef Unlimited will lead the sales team whose role is to deliver an exceptional, high value service to a portfolio of agent partners and distribution channels across Australia and International markets. The portfolio includes our Reef Unlimited (FNQ) and Treetops Adventure (Australia-wide) products. The Sales team take responsibility for the end-to-end management of industry sales and partnerships in order to ensure their success and continued growth promoting and selling the Experience Co portfolio of products across Australia and Internationally.
The role will see you:
* Develop and execute a comprehensive plan that drives sales and revenue, development of new opportunities and partnerships and includes key account focus
* Manage, lead and motivate a Cairns-based sales team whilst enhancing their experience at Experience Co
* Develop, implement and deliver individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for yourself and within the team; and reviewing performance on a bi-annual basis
* Create and nurture strong travel industry contacts to maximise relationships and opportunities with national, state and regional tourism bodies, preferred partners and other suppliers
* Monitor sales revenue, margin and performance and initiating corrective action when required
* Participate in promotional events such as travel shows, conferences and other promotions as required
* Manage in-market representation and understanding various international markets and cultures
* Analyse data that provides insight into industry trends and create Sales team direction
Qualifications, Skills & Experience we think are ideal:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role with extensive industry contacts (Essential)
* Business or Marketing Degree highly regarded
* Demonstrated strong leadership competency in managing and developing a high achieving professional sales team
* Proven sales ability including outstanding negotiation skills, persuasive ability and excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Results-driven to exceed targets and managing key initiatives
* Expert product and industry knowledge coupled with the ability to deal with clients at all levels and translate client needs into a complete solution
* Analytical interpretation, business reporting and advanced problem-solving skills
* Experience responding to the needs of senior internal stakeholders
* Self-leadership and organisational skills
