* Enjoy working in a diverse landscape, helping to manage some of the largest and most remote marine protected areas in Victoria * Work as part of a diverse team in a safe and inclusive work environment * Enjoy a healthy work-life balance As a Marine Ranger (position based in Foster), your primary focus will be to assist in the safe and efficient delivery of a range of marine and coastal related programs within a number of marine protected areas within the South Gippsland District including the 3 x Marine National Parks - (Wilsons Promontory Marine National, Corner Inlet Marine National Park and Bunurong Marine National Park), Corner Inlet Marine and Coastal Park and the Nooramunga Marine and Coastal Park which is joint managed with GLaWAC. About Us Parks Victoria's vision is to be a world-class parks service, ensuring healthy parks for healthy people. It is a statutory authority with responsibility for managing an expanding and diverse estate covering more than 4 million hectares, or about 17 per cent, of Victoria. The South Gippsland District contains some of Victoria's most beautiful coastal line, RAMSAR wetlands, many national parks and reserves, including Victoria's largest Marine National Park. There are many small coastal and regional communities, from Foster, Toora, Leongatha, Wonthaggi and Inverloch, which contain all the services you would need including high quality schools, medical infrastructure and a variety of employment opportunities. We're looking for someone with * Tertiary qualification in Marine Science / Environmental Management, Park Management or equivalent experience is preferable * Customer service skills, with highly developed communication and interpersonal skills. * Demonstrated experience and knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook * Relevent SCUBA diving qualifications (including logged dives preferably in temperate waters) * Coxswains Certificate.
