Managing the company’s road transport division in Geraldton, as Business Unit Manager (Roads), you will optimise operations achieving business growth, boost efficiency, and deliver exceptional service. As the Business Unit Manager (Roads), you will:
* Shape strategy to streamline logistics and cut costs.
* Lead daily operations—from scheduling and dispatch to fleet management—ensuring everything runs like clockwork.
* Champion compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
* Inspire and mentor a high-performing team of supervisors, drivers, and logistics pros
* Track performance with KPIs and implement smart improvements.
* Build strong partnerships with clients, suppliers, and regulators.
* Drive growth, spotting new opportunities to expand and dominate the market
* Manage budgets to keep the division profitable and sustainable
* Innovate continuously, leveraging tech to stay ahead
* Ensure seamless coordination across systems and departments
Qualifications
About you:
* A “lead from the front” individual who has extensive in road logistics, transport, or supply chain management experience
* Thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment, juggling multiple priorities with a hands‑on approach
* Operational powerhouse with expertise in route optimisation, fleet management, and logistics planning
* Deep understanding of safety regulations, compliance, and industry best practices
* Proven ability in financial management, budgeting, and cost control to keep the numbers on track
* A problem‑solver and decision‑maker who adapts quickly to evolving challenges
* Inspirational leader with a track record in coaching and building management capability
