Our mission is to empower individuals and communities through recreation and social connection. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Recreation Coordinator to facilitate community-based group activities that provide opportunities for participants to improve their physical health, social connection, and build their confidence, independence, and quality of life.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering activities designed to help our participants progress their personal recovery journeys, including walking groups, cycling, cooking, yoga, gym, swimming, arts and crafts, coffee club, and ten pin bowling.
These activities will cater to people who identify as having mental health challenges and/or challenges with alcohol and other drugs.
This is a full-time permanent position working 38 hours per week between Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate community-based group activities to improve physical health, social connection, and confidence.
* Deliver activities designed to support personal recovery journeys.
* Work alongside participants, their families, and various stakeholders.
* Meet the criteria outlined in the Model of Care.
* Engage and maintain professional relationships with clients and their wider formal and informal supports.
* Mentor and support staff members, while working independently.
The ideal candidate will have experience in community service delivery, recreation facilitation, and program development, with a willingness to contribute to the vision and mission of the organisation.
Relevant qualifications in a related discipline at degree, diploma, or certificate level are desirable but not essential.
