Primary objective
Provide financial and operational support to the finance team at Population and Primary Health Care Top End Region.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Undertake the role as Postmaster in processing accounts using the NTG - Government's Purchase-to-pay system and as credit
card verifier to ensure submitted transactions are compliant with legislative requirement.
2. Raise Accounts Receivable invoices in AR Wizard and prepare Ledger Transfer Fund (LTF). Manage outstanding debtor
invoices to ensure timely payment of revenue.
3. Assist with preparation and processing General Ledger journals at month end utilising the Government Accounting System for
reconciliation purpose and provide appropriate cost codes to program managers. Assist with the preparation of financial
acquittals.
1. Record management of official files and documents using the HPE Content Manager. Provide administrative support to the
Finance Team.
1. Contribute to the development and updating of financial and other related corporate polices and guidelines.
2. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken
in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven experience working in a financial management environment with accounting and financial administration principles and
procedures including the understanding of accrual accounting with experience in preparation and processing of accounting
journals and providing assistance with preparation of financial acquittals.
1. High level interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels and with people
from diverse cultures.
1. Ability to set priorities, complete tasks, provide organised and timely administrative support using initiative and demonstrating
flexibility while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
1. High level experience in computerised accounting systems and spreadsheets with intermediate excel skills and the ability to
present relevant reports to a variety of audiences.
1. Contemporary knowledge of accounting and financial principles, practices, and standards.
2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimum supervision in a team environment.
3. Previous experience in interpreting and applying relevant policies, Acts or Legislation.
