**Your new role**
- Provide high-quality and authoritative advice to support the delivery of key projects and outcomes, including the preparation of government submissions, business cases and reports, responses to issues papers and implementation plans.
- Develop and contribute to high quality briefings, meeting papers, presentations and correspondence, consistent with key policy objectives for a range of audiences including Ministers, Executives and central agencies.
- Support the identification of emerging, complex or highly sensitive issues, risks and trends impacting on the successful achievement of objectives and priorities and develop innovative solutions and options.
- Provide advice and support in the use of spatial technology and analysis, including preparation of map products. Undertake spatial data automation and analysis, automated spatial data processing and general programming. Capture user requirements and expectations and provide technical advice and work with others to deliver and design digital/spatial requirements.
- Effectively communicate, negotiate and build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders across the division and department to achieve required outcomes.
- Maintain confidentiality and display sound judgment when dealing with sensitive information and issues to provide quality and relevant information in line with government policies.
- Actively contribute to a positive, open, delivery focused culture that values, supports and mentors' people and is based on collaboration, accountability and performance excellence.
**What you'll need to succeed**

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in geomatics, geography/cartography, GIS, data science, or a similar discipline is desirable.
- Intermediate to advanced capability in automated spatial data processing and general programming, including understanding of the spatial algorithms and data structures behind typical GIS software tools and experience in the creation of spatial data processing scripts using Python, ArcPy and/or SQL is desirable.
- Experience in using, analysing, manipulating and querying data held in spatial and non-spatial databases is mandatory.
