This role sits at the sharp end of defence testing. You're not just running tests - you decide how testing is done and you're accountable for the results.
Australian citizenship and eligibility for security clearance are non-negotiable.
Your Role:
* Own test strategy, planning, and execution for embedded systems
* Lead system-level testing across electrical, software, and mechanical components
* Develop formal test procedures, reports, and compliance evidence
* Design, commission, and maintain test setups and infrastructure
* Drive fault investigation and root-cause analysis
* Coach junior engineers and testers
* Identify and implement practical improvements to test and quality processes
* Work independently on program and customer deliverables
Your Background
* Degree-qualified engineer (Electrical, Software, Mechatronics, Robotics, or similar)
* Strong hands-on testing experience in embedded systems
* Demonstrated ability to define and execute test plans independently
* Experience working within structured quality frameworks
* Solid understanding of CAN, serial, Ethernet, and related interfaces
* Scripting or software capability for automation, tooling, or analysis
* Comfortable working in controlled, security-focused environments
Desirable
* Active or lapsed security clearance
* Defence, aerospace, or safety-critical project exposure
* Formal testing or quality certifications
* Experience improving or rebuilding test processes
* Data capture, logging, and test rig experience
How You Operate
* You take ownership and see things through
* You don't tolerate sloppy work or weak evidence
* You think in systems, not silos
* You treat security and compliance seriously
If you're ready to own testing, raise the bar, and work on defence programs where failure has real consequences, apply now.
